In 2002, Jakub Berdych established Qubus with the aim of creating a non-standard design boutique, primarily showcasing contemporary Czech and conceptual design from world famous names and brands. In the same year, together with Maxim Velčovský, founded the Qubus Design studio. Under the Qubus name, a whole range of works and compact collections, so important to Qubus handwriting, are produced. Both designers participate in the development of the brand: the Qubus Design studio is established with a focus on interior design, architecture, installation or graphic design commissions.

In 2008, within the framework of the opening of the gallery and contemporary art center DOX, a unique and progressive concept of a gallery shop under the name of DOX BY QUBUS is presented. With its unique selection, reflecting the top of the Czech contemporary design scene and conceptual works across the spectrum of art and design fields.
