Elisabeth Hertzfeld is a French-American designer born in Paris in 1972. She graduates from the Ecole nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Paris in 1995 in scenography. She moves to Berlin in 1997 and works as stage designer and museographer for various theaters and museums. She works among others with Bob Wilson, Klaus Michael Grüber and Martin Wuttke. She collaborates in the conception of the exhibition Der im-perfekte Mensch that opened in Dresden in 2000.
Back in Paris in 2003, Elisabeth founds her own company,Remake Design and develops, industrializes and markets internationally an innovative modular lighting system,Remake Light. She conceives specific installations for interior architecture, events, merchandising, signage and showcases with various brands, communication agencies and architects. Among her clients, there are prestigious brands like Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin and Heineken for whom she creates customized editions but also Givenchy, l'Oréal Paris,Sephora, Société Générale, All Seasons Hotels, Ligne Roset Contracts... Since 2015, Elisabeth works as a freelance designer for various brands and designs functional and poetic objects, furniture and spaces."Fascinated by materials and their transformation, I try to find the proper balance between the effort engaged on a material and its effect. The aim being always to create pleasure."
